Microneedling in Medellín
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates skin regeneration through controlled micro-perforations. Made with a device of ultra-fine needles, these micro-injuries activate the skin’s own production of collagen and elastin, which is what leads to firmer, more even skin.
It is used to improve skin texture, soften scars, reduce fine lines, work on hyperpigmentation and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. Because the channels it creates increase the absorption of actives such as vitamins, hyaluronic acid or growth factors, microneedling is often combined with them.
Benefits of microneedling
It stimulates collagen and elastin
The micro-perforations activate the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins behind firm, elastic skin.
It improves skin texture
It reduces the appearance of enlarged pores, smooths the skin and works on evenness of tone.
It softens scars and stretch marks
It is used for acne, surgical and traumatic scars, and to reduce the visibility of stretch marks. How much a scar changes depends on its age and type, which is assessed beforehand.
It softens fine lines
Through cell regeneration, the skin becomes smoother and looks fresher, particularly where the lines are fine rather than deep.
It helps actives penetrate
It increases the penetration of substances such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins and growth factors, which is why it is often used as the step before applying them.
Hyperpigmentation and melasma
It is used as part of the approach to pigmentation, to work on evenness of tone. 🔴 Melasma is a condition that can worsen with the wrong stimulus, so it is treated only after a dermatological assessment and with sun protection as part of the plan.

Microneedling can be applied to different areas to work on texture, firmness and skin appearance, because what it stimulates — cell regeneration and collagen production — is the same process everywhere.

Microneedling at Be Dharma, Medellín
Microneedling in Medellín is carried out at Be Dharma with defined protocols and after assessing your skin, which is what determines the depth, the number of sessions and whether this is the right treatment for what you want to change.
The procedure stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in a precise and controlled way, and is often combined with actives such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins or growth factors applied immediately afterwards, while the channels are still open.

Questions?
Frequently asked questions about microneedling
Which skin types is microneedling for?
It is used on a wide range of skin types, particularly for acne scars, fine lines, pigmentation, enlarged pores or loss of firmness. Whether it suits your skin is confirmed at the assessment, as with any medical treatment.
How many sessions are needed?
Changes can start to show after the first session, but 3 to 6 sessions is the usual range for a result that holds.
Does microneedling hurt?
There can be a mild sensation of discomfort, and it is generally well tolerated. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand when needed.
How long does a session take?
Around 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
What is the aftercare?
After the session you will be asked to:
- Use sunscreen, which is what prevents post-treatment pigmentation.
- Hydrate the skin with gentle products.
- Avoid direct sun, swimming pools and saunas for at least 48 hours.
- Avoid makeup and harsh products for the first few days.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often combined with hyaluronic acid, vitamins, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and peels, and the order is decided by the doctor.
How long do the results last?
Results can last several months, depending on your skin and on the aftercare. Maintenance sessions every 4 to 6 months are usually recommended.
Can I wear makeup afterwards?
You will be asked to wait 24 to 48 hours before applying makeup, so the skin can recover first.
