IV Therapy in Medellín
IV therapy is the intravenous administration of fluids combined with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids and other nutrients. Because it goes directly into the bloodstream, absorption does not depend on digestion, which is the reason this route is used when intake by mouth is not enough.
It is used as support for hydration, recovery and nutrient replacement, and as a complement to aesthetic, sports and post-operative care. It is a complement: it does not replace a balanced diet, medical treatment or rest.
What IV therapy is used for
Support for the immune system
Formulations with vitamin C, zinc and other micronutrients are used to support normal immune function, particularly when there is a documented deficiency. It is support, not protection against getting ill.
Energy and tiredness
Used for periods of physical exhaustion, fatigue and stress. 🔴 Persistent tiredness has medical causes worth investigating: IV therapy is not a substitute for finding out what is behind it.
Hydration
It restores fluid balance directly, which is the clearest and best-established use of this route and what makes a difference to physical and mental performance when you are dehydrated.
Antioxidants
The formulations include antioxidants, which act on free radicals. «Detox» is a commercial name for these packs: the organs that clear toxins are the liver and the kidneys.
Skin and cell regeneration
The combination of antioxidants and vitamins is used as support for skin quality, alongside — not instead of — the treatments that act on the skin directly.
Muscle recovery
Used by people with high physical demands to support tissue recovery and relieve physical exhaustion after effort.
Focus and mental fog
Some formulations are prepared with micronutrients linked to cognitive function. What they address is deficiency and dehydration, not concentration in someone whose levels are normal.

IV therapy at Be Dharma, Medellín
IV therapy in Medellín is carried out at Be Dharma with a medical assessment first, which is what determines whether it applies to you and which formulation is appropriate. It is an intravenous procedure, so it is treated as one.
Each session uses a formulation of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids chosen for your case. You will also be told when IV therapy is not the answer — if what is behind the tiredness is something that needs investigating, that comes first.
Questions?
Frequently asked questions about IV therapy
What is IV therapy used for, and when is it noticeable?
It is used as support for hydration, energy, nutrient replacement and recovery. Hydration is felt soonest; everything else depends on what your levels were to begin with, which is why the assessment comes first.
How many sessions are recommended?
It depends on the aim. For general wellbeing, one session every one or two weeks; for specific uses such as post-operative recovery or nutrient replacement, the doctor sets the frequency.
Is it safe? Does it have side effects?
Carried out by trained professionals, it is a well-established procedure. Side effects are uncommon and usually mild: redness at the puncture site or a sensation of warmth during the infusion.
How long does a session take?
Around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the formulation. You remain seated comfortably while it is administered.
Who is not a candidate?
It is not recommended during pregnancy, for people with severe kidney impairment or with certain medical conditions. That is what the assessment is for, and it is not optional for an intravenous treatment.
Which formulation applies to my case?
At Be Dharma the formulation is chosen at the assessment: Anti-fatigue for periods of exhaustion, Healthy Skin for skin quality, Detox for the antioxidant formulation. Which one applies is a medical decision, not a menu choice.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is used alongside facial rejuvenation, sports recovery and post-surgical care, and the timing is coordinated with whatever else you are having done.
How often can I have IV therapy?
For general wellbeing, one session every 7 to 15 days. For specific uses the frequency is set by the doctor according to what is being treated.
What is the aftercare?
No special aftercare is needed. You will be asked to keep well hydrated and avoid immediate physical exertion, and to follow the medical instructions if the infusion was part of post-operative care.
Do I need to prepare beforehand?
No special preparation is needed. It helps to arrive well hydrated and having eaten something light, so you do not feel faint during the infusion.
